The Story
Through our programs, we discovered Sameer’s hidden talent for tailoring, despite facing post polio paralysis affecting his legs. Living with his disabled younger sister in a small house, they relied solely on their government disability pension and faced unemployment.
With guidance and support from Equip India staff, Sameer established a successful tailoring business in his village. He received a motorized sewing machine through our funding, enabling him to offer tailoring services to his community and nearby areas. Additionally, he cleverly stitches old rice bags into carpets for homes and agriculture, earning him Rs. 4000/- monthly, significantly supplementing their income. Sameer’s achievement has been remarkable, and he is grateful for the assistance provided by Equip India.
