The Story
Akshay, a 16-year-old boy from a target village, faces considerable obstacles due to 90% speech and hearing loss. He attends a special school for students with similar impairments. However, his family’s financial situation is challenging, with his father as the sole earner working as a private employee. Akshay’s mother is a homemaker, and they also have a younger sibling studying in the 9th grade. Despite these difficulties, Akshay strives to overcome his limitations and pursue his education and dreams.
Recognizing the family’s financial challenges, Akshay’s father sought assistance to acquire quality hearing aids for his son. Thanks to the “H.E.A.L” project by Equip India, they extended a helping hand and covered the expenses for bilateral hearing aids, totaling Rs. 30,000/-. Akshay’s happiness knew no bounds as he could now hear clearly and communicate with others without any barriers. This support has made a significant impact on his life, opening up new opportunities for him to thrive.
