A Word from Joni
Joni and Ken Tada during their visit to India in September 2004, with Operation Equip India youth effected with disabilities.
As a quadriplegic who has lived in a wheelchair for 35 years, I am so grateful for the grace of God and good support services here in the United States. I only wish it were the same for so many people with disabilities in India.
...over 100,000,000 people with disabilities live in India – and there are virtually no services available. As a wheelchair user, I am stunned by these statistics. Poverty is rampant among the disabled and job opportunities are scarce. Although support services may be non-existent, thankfully the grace of God is at work among these people.
My heart is strengthened when I think of the way the grace of God is being poured out among these hurting people through Equip India. Joni and Friends is thrilled to have Equip India as a chartered ministry partner and we are praying for the success and growth of this unique ministry which provides a full range of services to the disabled.
I encourage you to join me, my husband, and all of us at Joni and Friends in supporting the vision of Equip India... It is one way that we can “go out... find the lame, blind and disabled... bring them in... so that my Father’s house may be full” (Luke 14:21,23).
As you pray for and contribute to this special venture, it is my prayer that God’s grace, always so available and abundant, will be yours and that you may know every blessing of Hebrews 6:10, “God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them.
On behalf of Equip India, thank you...
Joni Eareckson Tada
